Bangor High School Jazz Band

The BHS Jazz Band is comprised of more than two dozen instrumentalists from our Music Department. Open to players of every instrument, the group meets one evening each week, rehearsing a variety of jazz styles including Dixieland, Swing, Jazz/Rock, Latin, Funk, Ballads and Blues.

The group performs at the Berklee College of Music High School Jazz Festival in Boston each year, as well as the Maine Music Educators Association’s District and State Jazz Festivals. They have also been heard at Heritage Festivals in New York City and Washington, D.C.
