Scott R.C. Levy is in his fifth year as the Producing Artistic Director of Penobscot Theatre Company, America's northeastern-most professional theatre company. As a director, actor and/or producer, Levy has worked on, off and off-off Broadway, at the New York and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and in over 60 cities across the United States and Canada. Before relocating to Bangor in 2005, Levy was the co-producer of the Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU, and a teaching artist with the Guggenheim Museum. He holds an MA in Educational Theatre and a BFA in Acting, both from New York University. Currently, Levy is the vice chair of the Greater Bangor Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and is a member of the board of Bangor Center Corporation. For his work at Penobscot Theatre, Levy has received the community revitalization award from Maine Preservation, the organizational impact award from the Bangor CVB, Fusion Bangor’s Horizon Award and named to MaineBiz’s NEXT list, as one of 10 people shaping the future of Maine’s economy. As a yound lad, Levy played Alto Saxophone in the award-winning William H. Hall High School Jazz Band in West Hartford, Connecticut from 1990-1993.
